The Roosevelt Room!4 min read

A little of downtown/OTR has hit Liberty Center! The masterminds behind 4EG–the group who is responsible for putting fun into your nights with great bars and dance floors–is livening up the northern part of town. The Roosevelt Room has just opened, and it’s just what that area needed.

It is a funky, cool, hip spot to grab some yummy cocktails, hang out and even dance. This is the first time this group has come out to the ‘burbs, and they’re excited to add some nightlife to this up-and-coming area.

You walk into a lodge-like room with a pool table, a long bar and some cozy seating along the wall. Near the back is a small hidden sitting area where it’s a bit quieter. Then, in the very back is another bar with a dance area and a D.J. (Fridays and Saturdays from 10p.m-2a.m). This area can also be rented out for private events during the week and until 10p.m. on weekends.

They don’t serve food, but you’re welcome to bring in whatever you’d like. They’re currently working on something with Kona Grill across the courtyard.

When I was talking with Operations Manager Mike Schroeder, he was giving me the scoop on the specialty cocktails. I love hearing about the details and creativity that go into making a place special. The meaning behind the drink names is not only fun but was my history lesson for the day!

The Roosevelt
A basic Mint Julep. Teddy used to add a ¼ oz. of brandy into his Mint Juleps and serve them at tennis matches. This was also what he served to people to win their vote.

One of Roosevelts famous sayings was, “Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.”

Speak Softly
Delicious! Lillet Rosé, champagne & strawberries

Big Stick
Like a manly Manhattan with a bourbon smoked wood chip and a smoky finish.

You Will Go Far
Their Tito’s cocktail with Rosemary (basically Christmas in a glass!)

The Monocle
Referring to his eyepiece, this is the gin cocktail.

The Rough Rider
Teddy was a Calvary leader in the Spanish American War. His Calvary was called the Rough Riders. They fought in Puerto Rico, and that is where the Daiquiri originated… so there you go!

Moose, not “Mousse”
The dessert cocktail…bring it on!

The huge Moose head on the back wall is in reference to Teddy’s nickname of “Moose”. When he ran for his third term of Presidency, he didn’t get a nomination from the Republicans or Democrats so he started his own party called the “bull nosed moose party”!! Love this :)

Enjoy their amazing Happy Hours…half- price drinks from 4-7 p.m. Ask about the “Rough Rider” loyalty program that offers $1 off domestics/drafts and Tito’s drinks (I think they did this just for me cuz Tito’s is my liquid of choice).

Hours: 4 p.m. – 2 a.m. everyday (closed on Sundays).

It’s located at 7100 Foundry Row between CineBistro and Cooper’s Hawk and will be the only place in the area open until 2 a.m. Have Mahta or Mark shake you up a flawless cocktail!
