This was such a fun blog to work on! I was asked to be part of a campaign for Romualdo Bespoke Tailoring in Madeira. They have been the “go to” men’s shop for years and, lucky for me, they are expanding into women’s clothing. My husband is a dresser… well, he wasn’t until he met me, let’s just say I created a fashion monster. He is all in when it comes to fashion and clothes. He wears suits everyday to work and wants them to fit just right. He gets all of his suits made at Romualdo. He lights up when he gets the call that his suit is ready and picks it up immediately. Now I get to be in on the excitement!

Being part of the “If These Sleeves Could Talk” campaign with a few other fun ladies in town was a blast. We all got to create a piece of clothing just for us, individually. So, we each had to a little Q &A … what do you want to say about yourself? What will this piece say about me?? I like to think I am a little conservative with a twist… just a bit edgy. And I don’t like anyone wearing what I’m wearing, so the custom-made jackets are perfect! A great blazer is a must in everyone’s closet. It is a versatile and a staple that will never go out of style. You can wear it to work, over a t-shirt with jeans or use it as a lightweight jacket.

So, here’s the deal you literally get to pick everything from fabric, to buttons (how many and what kind), to the cut of the lapel, to the length (short or longer), the lining design… I mean, everything. This sounds like so much fun, but, holy night, there are hundreds of choices. I was a little overwhelmed and wanted so many. With the help from the great staff, like Meggie and owners Tim Brock and Chris Berre I finally narrowed it down to a cool gray plaid with a purple accent that I carried out with a purple camouflage lining. To top it off, they stitched my name in it. I love that special touch.

After all of us received our own “creations,” we went to Aaron Conway’s studiofor a photo shoot which was so much fun. Hair, make-up, fun music, it was a blast. Thank you, Aaron, for such a cool experience. To have all of us together with our personal fashion creations and different styles was so much fun, too. Click to watch the fun!

You definitely feel confidant when you are dressed the part. I am so happy that Romualdo and the “If These Sleeves Could Talk” campaign is pairing up with Dress For Success, too. For every share of this photo they will donate $1. It’s all about feeling successful. Click picture to share!

My son had his first day at his summer internship on Monday. He got ready and said he only needed to wear dress pants and a button down, but he wanted to wear a blazer. “Better to be over dressed than under dressed.” Wow … he does listen to us! ;)

(I also had my eye on a cool graffiti liner and I kept bringing it up to my husband, so I was so surprised on Mother’s Day when I opened a box with another blazer with that liner! Kudos for listening to that subtle hint ;)
Amy Elisabeth Spasoff for the fun pictures!
