Hit the Ohio River with the S.S. Tiki Boat!3 min read

Hello! It’s been a minute since the last time I posted about fun in Cincinnati. Things are starting to feel a little normal, the sun is shining and we can hang out outside which is great for those who are still a little hesitant about getting out and about.

As far as dining, there are so many great restaurants with outdoor dining and then there is the creativity of our OTR restaurants who created space on the streets to accommodate more seating and social distancing.  I’ll tell you what, it’s pretty cool. If you want to get out of your neighborhood venture downtown it’s a great experience… I said it reminds me of the great Dinner En Blanc event that used to happen every year, but you don’t have to wear white :) Although, I encourage a mask walking to your table and bathroom. And so many of your favorite restaurants are doing carry out, so it’s a great time to take advantage of the carryout and hit up a park to eat. I do still love the 2 carryout cocktail option… bonus!

Tiki Boat!

I had the chance to have some fun in the sun over the last week and I wanted to share it with you.

I got to hit the river on a fun tiki pontoon boat with a small group of friends and most importantly… a captain! It’s 5 O’Clock somewhere and always on a boat :)

S.S Tiki Boats has started river tours on their fun “Buffet” themed boat. They have a range of tours where you can take a two-hour river ride, three-hour grill out tour. When things start up again this will be a great option for cruisin’ during concerts at Riverbend or Firework Friday for Reds games and the fun keeps coming. The greatest part of this cruise on the river is that you make your own fun. Make it a theme, bring your favorite music…basically you bring your party and they provide the float!

It’s a perfect way to catch great views on one of Cincinnati’s least used playgrounds… the Ohio River.

You can grab 5 friends, your own cooler of refreshments, and food. So this is a fantastic way to see the views of Cincy and Kentucky from a different point of view. Along the way, your captain will give you fun tidbits of information about the area that you may have never heard before.

Things to know:

  • The dock is at the Rivertowne Marina
  • They do have a little restroom on the boat and they will do a stop at a marina during your tour
  • No hassle reschedule due to weather
  • Chairs and storage onboard you can also ask for a picnic table set up or chairs. They even have a couple zero gravity chairs which are pretty awesome!
  • You can take a picture with my Hey Michelle sticker if you find it and tag me ;)

They are booking up fast so make sure to pick a date soon… and make sure and tell them Hey Michelle sent ya!
