Biggest Rooftop in Cincy!
I know we’re having “squalls” of snow (learn a new word everyday), but I have my mind on warm days and Rooftop Bars! One I can’t wait to hit is the brand new Upper Deck at AC Marriotton the Banks. I was lucky enough to get up there for their Grand Opening in November, but it hasn’t been open to the public yet. It will have it’s opening appropriately on Reds Opening Day March 29th. For more of my favorite rooftops the link to my post about them is below.
This, my friends, is the BIGGEST rooftop bar in Cincinnati holding up to 277 people and the only one on the Banks. I’m telling you, the views are amazing! It will be the coolest spot to go for Friday night fireworks after Reds games, since it’s located right across the street. The Upper Deck is incredibly spacious…with fantastic cozy egg chairs, fireplace seating areas, a huge bar and unbelievable views.
I guess I should tell you some other fun things about this place. Things like…it’s a really cool hotel with 171 rooms with a modern clean look and 2 large suites with beautiful views of the river. They also have a hip bar inside where I recommend either one of the two house made Gin & Tonics. At 5:00 every night, they cheer to a Spanish tradition called Parron where you drink by raising your arm high up and streaming the drink into your mouth. This tradition signifies the end of the workday! It took me a couple tries to get this right but, practice makes perfect, or a mess, hahaha! Check out my Epic Fail!
Another cool ritual they have is around sundown (and only if they have a good crowd in the bar) is the fire cocktail: they mix up 151, coffee beans, honey, lemons and some other goodies, then they cheer and light it on fire. You have to ask for Linnie at the bar, because I told him you’d all go see him and tip him really well!
As far as food, the AC Kitchen is a breakfast buffet and the bar has small plates, which will be served on at Upper Deck also. If the Upper Deck or the lobby bar isn’t your gig they also have a fun area in the back. It has cornhole and a putt putt area!
