A look into Pout Studio and more Mother’s Day ideas!4 min read

I wanted to get this idea out for you in case you were still looking for a great Mother’s Day gift. As a mom, I love things I can do with my kids. This one is for Mom’s and daughters and it is so fun. (Many more gift ideas at the below):)

Last week I had a chance to visit Pout Studiowhich is housed in a cool renovated old mansion in Newport, KY. Owner, Trina Paul, specializes in making people beautiful for weddings, senior pictures, business headshots and more, but what I love is that she has opened her studio and her massive makeup collection to teach people, like me, who have no clue how to use it all.

Trina has worked for just about everyone…Lancôme, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, MAC, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barney’s, Estée Lauder just to name a few. So with all of this knowledge, she makes it so much fun and she’s not out to sell the products (which keeps it fun and no pressure). You just go, enjoy, have fun and learn.

Everyone gets their own area at a group table. You have a little wine while Trina walks you through many techniques of applying makeup and what brushes to use. Like she says…”You are in control of your makeup experience and they will guide you through it in a way that’s fun.” I didn’t realize how clueless I really was until this class :)

You will end up chatting away with everyone around you and it’s fun to see the transformation and how everyone’s look is so different from each other. In my group, some wanted a prom glam look with more dramatic makeup, while others wanted a natural look. She personally guides everyone through the process. Somehow with a room full of women- drinking wine- she got her point across without interrupting the fun atmosphere.

The bonus is… when you are finished and look amazing, you get to keep the cool set of brushes AND you get to do a photo shoot! They have a professional photographer that takes a few pics and emails them to you later. Thank you Trina and to your cute mom. I had a blast!
