Unique Yoga Experience in Cincinnati2 min read
I recently tried a new “Sunday Funday” and I’ll tell you what.. it was magical. My Sundays are usually brunch & bloodies, but I was invited to be a part of what I am calling my “Zen Sunday” and I wish I could do it every week!
I gathered with a great group of gals to do a yoga retreat with The Yoga Bar in the beautiful, serene rentals of Cincinnati’s premier vacation properties, Red Whale Rentals in Mt. Adams (which adds so much to the whole experience). These gorgeous rentals offer so many rental options and they can accommodate up to 10 people. The Yoga Bar specializes in custom retreats that cater to your needs and wants. They will do couples or friends (an alternative to a bachelorette party) or something like an unplug weekend that would be a mini staycation in our great city. And, there are so many options to add on: a cooking class or museum tour, meditation or hiking…lots of great ideas for different scenarios, price range and group size.
We started the day with Rachel, the owner of The Yoga Bar, walking us through a 2-hour yoga session. I’m going to be honest, I was a little leery of the 2 hours and I think some others were too. I am fidgety and was thinking “how I am going to sit still and do yoga for this long?” Then Rachel’s calm voice starting leading us through the flow of her practice. She would even throw in a little fun and words of wisdom along the way. We did some moves with a partner which and before you knew it, time was up! I told Rachel I just want her in my life every day to say just the right thing and put me in the right mindset.
After yoga, we walked to another rental that is seriously so cool I wanted to move in. It has an amazing river view. There, we had a wonderful chef who had prepared a yummy spread for us to enjoy while we all gawked at the cool condo. Next, Rachel had a little craft time for us when we made some body scrub. I found that sharing the yoga practice, eating and talking …the women in my group just clicked. The whole day was seriously amazing and it was right here in Mt. Adams.
Along with the unique experiences you can create with The Yoga Bar in Cincinnati, they also have some getaway retreats (click here) that look crazy cool. A couple dates for Hocking Hills and one to Bali …yes please!
